DD and am in Changi Airport Transits Area.
Initially we had booked Baiyoke Boutique Hotel for this trip, but upon reaching at the Check-In Counter at 8pm without dinner, the check-in counter junior staff told us that the bathrooms in our rooms were leaking, and they will be transferring us to the nearest Baiyoke Suite Hotel instead, which is a 5mins walk away from Baiyoke Boutique. The moment i heard this 'problem', i was furious!! Because am had heard this same excuse used by Boutique in some of the forums. I tried not to lose my temper yet, and told them that i will not buy their excuse and i demanded to stay in this hotel!
Well, i guessed the junior staff saw the 'change' in my face, and quickly asked a senior staff to explain to me instead. Hhahaha but to no avail, instead i DEMANDED to see the bathrooms in our rooms. Amazingly, they brought us to a level where the whole level of rooms were renovating!!! Ridiculous! Well this time round, they really 'switched on' my mean button! I scolded both at the junior and senior staff for giving us stupid excuses and said this is the worst hotel ever! And i think i said the 'F' word a few times. Muahahahaha. Awhile later, the senior manager came out and explain the whole situation again! Actually am knows that no matter how angry, pissed or scolding them, we will still will not have the rooms. But at least, i have vented my anger on them!!!! They deserved my scoldings! Lastly, i asked them whether do i have any compensation, their answer to me' Sorry maaaadam, no compensation.' i LL -_-'"
Look how deceiving Baiyoke Boutique Hotel, nice decor and nice lobby.
One of the reason why am refused to move to Baiyoke Suite because am and friends had a bad encounter over there too in 2006. The suite were too old and creepy. But i was quite dumb-founded when i saw the suite this time round. Well, let the pictures do the talking.
Baiyoke Suite's Hall now.
Baiyoke Suite's room now. See the vast difference??
After all the big hoo-haas, we went to Suan Lum Night Bazaar for dinner. Shop for awhile too, but the price there were so much steeper. And some don't even entertain bargaining.
Tom Yum soup with seafood. Yummy, not spicy though.
Mixed-Vegetables.
Overall, the dinner cost about 600+ baht.
2nd Day - Frida. We went for the half-day tour. We get to visit a temple, the mini floating-market, a gem factory, honey making factory and lastly Erwin Shrine. We had McDonald's for lunch. I missed their Samurai Pork Burger so much! I bet you can't find any Samurai Pork Burger in any of our McDonald's outlet in Singapore. Hhahahahaha.
Super-duper juicy pork burger. Is nice!!! Please remember to grab one if you are in bkk.
We went to MBK for dinner, ate in a Japanese Ramen Restaurant. 3 of us ordered the same ramen, Tom Yum Ramen and shared a plate of Gyoza.
After dinner, we went to Health Land Spa for massage. The location is quite secluded, but it is a well-known massage place in bkk. They are famous for their excellent services and affordable prices. Do visit http://www.healthlandspa.com/. We went there for two days for Aromatherapy Body Massage and Foot Massage.
Day 3 - Saturday. Chatuchak Weekend Market. Shop Shop Shop Sweat Sweat Sweat. We had lunch at this very crowded and cramped stall. They served Fried Chicken with Sticky Rice.
It was delicious, but the sticky rice was too full. On a note, the stall was also very dirty. Hahahaha.
Crabmeat Fried Rice. Simply Delicious! Very yummy and tasty, but a bit oily. Am ate two bowls! Hahahaha
Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs. The taste is somehow quite similar to the one who have in Singapore.
Steam Prawns with Tang-Hoon. Wooo...The Tang-Hoon were superb! They are springy and tasty. Didn't fancy the prawns though.
Bird's Nest with Ginko Nuts for Dessert. Sweet and delicious bird's nest to end our sumptuous dinner. Am think the whole meal cost about 3000+ baht, courtesy of DD's cousin.
Day 4 - Sunday. Shopping at Chatuchak Weekend Market again. But we were too exhausted to continue again after noon time. So we headed back to have my favourite Wanton Mee. It's located opposite Grand Diamond Hotel. The stall is beside a small road and look out for the chef with the shades put on everyday.
Wanton Soup.
In the evening, we met up with cousin again. He brought us to The Good View Restaurant and Bar for authentic thai food. The restaurant is beside a river, a nice environment to have your dinner, and there's a live band inside the restaurant too.
1st dish, ok i have no idea what is it called. So let's me just name it as Spicy Appetising Prawns. Because these prawns was indeed spicy and appetising, it kind of opens up your taste bud. hahahaha.
A very delicious vegetables which am have no idea what is it called again. I loveeeeeeee the sauce that goes with the vegetables. Am practically finished the whole plate of it.
Everyone loveesssss this pandan chicken. We never tasted such chicken in Singapore before, am thinks that they added some special kind of spices to enhance the taste in the chickens. Thumbs up!!
Tom Yum Gong. It was the best Tom Yum Soup we had throughout the whole trip. It was very spicy. DD was sweating unknowingly while drinking the soup. Hhahahaha.
Day 5 - Monday. Was randomly shopping around area of MBK. We decided to have an extravagant dinner since it was our last night. We went to Fuji Japanese Restaurant in Siam Paragon to have our dinner.
DD and am Soft-shell crabs maki.Am Salmon Sashimi.
DD's Fried Salmon with Tartar Sauce.
The dinner cost us about 1500+ baht. So worth it right?! But am would only rate 6/10, because their bento were not nice as nice as the appetisers. So the dinner marks the end of our 6D5N trip.
PS: Bangkok was very safe and peaceful throughout our whole trip, though there were reports on riots in Bangkok before and during our trip. Everyone else was minding their own business in fact.
