Miss Clarity with Pictures

Saturday dinner was with DD's mama and sister. We went to Miss Clarity at Katong. This time round, we remembered to take pictures. We ordered 1 Dozen of French Escargot ($15.80), DD's sister ordered Lobster Risotto ( it was just crayfish and not lobster, $18.80), DD had Softshell Crab Pasta ($10.80), DD's mama had Roasted Chicken Leg ($12.80) and am had Garlic Crusted Dory ($9.80), and lastly Mud Ooze ($5) for dessert.

Free-flow of iced-water in a tub.

French Escargot.

DD's mama's Roasted Chicken Leg. Juicy roasted chicken leg and creamy potato. Not bad.

DD's Softshell Crab Pasta. It was good. The crabs were generous in portion and pasta was creamy.

Am all-time favourite dish to order in Miss Clarity. This time round, they added alittle spice into their potatoes, they added curry powder into it. Besides potatoes, it comes with stir-fried vegetables.

DD's sis Lobster Risotto. It was cheesy baked rice in tomato based sauce. Not too bad too. But am thinks that the price is a bit steep, given that it was only crayfish and not lobster.

DD and am favourite dessert. Mud ooze. Is a Must try dessert.

The service at Katong was definitely better at Purvis street. The service they gave was warm and friendly, especially the lady boss who is the niece of the owner patiently explained to us what are their latest dishes and desserts. She also told us they do cater to parties, such as birthday and wedding reception. The price is around $15 per pax.

Mad Jack

Bro came and picked me up from school today and lunch was at Mad Jack at Bukit Timah. They had a few branches around Singapore too. We had the Set Lunch A ($11), which you get to choose either Fish and Chips, Chicken Chop or Salmon. Set lunch consists of a drink and a soup. Bro and am chose Fish n Chips. We also shared a Tiramisu ($5) for dessert.

Soup of the day: Chicken and Sweet Corn Soup. Not too bad, thick and tasty soup. But am would prefer the soup to be more hotter.

Our Fish n Chips. Crispy fried fish n chips. The portion of the fish are quite big. The batter of the fish are not as thick as compared from Fisherman Wharf.

Tiramisu. Ok, not happening at all. The tiramisu is not soft and smooth at all, am felt like im eating a sponge cake instead.

Surprised! Pot Luck

Saturday was Surprised! Pot Luck Birthday Party for Gentle Giant aka Weide! It was my first pot luck and am didn't had a clue on what to prepare or cook. Luckily with the help of Mrs. Kwok, am decided to prepare Texas Country Potato Salad and Potato Croquettes. All potatoes! Hahahaa, Valerie even gave us the nick of Mr. and Mrs. Potato. It was also DD and am first time cooking together, and am had a great time of 'ordering and instructing' DD on how to prepare the potato salad. Muahahahahah.

You can get the recipe for Texas Country Potato Salad at here.

As for the Potato Croquettes, the recipe is provided by Mrs. Kwok. Thanks orange!
1) Boil potato in a pot of slightly salted water. Mash potato and allow cooling.
2) Chop Tuna/Minced Meat and combined with the mash potato.
3) Season with salt and black pepper.
4) Shape the mixture into palm size.
5) Coat the patties with beat egg and roll into the bowl of breadcrumbs.
6) Bring oil to heat and deep fry

Val and Gary prepared Fried Rice and Chicken Wings.

Seafood Paradise

Sunday dinner was at Seafood Paradise at 91 Defu Lane 10, to celebrate Junxian and Weide Birthday, but it was more like a mini soccer gathering for the guys! Anyway we reached there about 8pm, and it was totally crowded with people! Luckily Darren managed to make a last minute reservation and this place was highly recommended by him. The restaurant is divided into open-air and air-conditioned seating.

They are famous for their signature Creamy Butter Crab ($162 for 4 Big Crabs) with Mantou ($6.40 for 16 mantous), and Wasabi Prawns ($32 for two plates). We have also ordered Home-made Beancurd with Pork Floss ($20 for two plates), CrisTaiwan Soya Chicken ($24 for two plates), Fried Baby Squids ($16 for two plates), Bacon Roll with Cheese ($24 for two plates), Egg White with Scallop on Broccoli ($44 for two plates).

Crispy Fried Baby Squids. It was good! However there are limited baby squids to be shared among us.

Wasabi Prawns. Nice!!!! The wasabi sauce goes well with those deep-fried prawns. However, the prawns are also quite limited. Next time we should order middle-plate for all the dishes.

Egg White with Scallops on Broccoli. Personally, am found this dish quite normal. Nothing special.

Taiwan Soya Chicken. Please do not order this dish. Personally am thinks that my mama cooks way better than this soya chicken. It was practically chicken joints dips in soya sauce. No wonder we didn't finished up the whole dish. Ha!

Home-made Beancurd with Pork Floss. This dish was rather tasty, the tou-fu was smooth and it goes very well with the Pork Floss. Am is a big fan of beancurds.

Bacon Roll with Cheese. Yum Yum Yum!! The bacon was coated with cheese and later deep-fried together with the sweet sauce. Not too cheesy as well.

After waiting for another 20minutes, the main lead arrived. Creamy Butter Crabs. Darren concluded the crabs are infested with tumours, because all the crabs are humongous! Hhahahah.

Taaaaa-Dahhhh!!! Creamy Butter Crabs. Look, how big the crabs are! The creamy sauce was thick and savoury. This was my first time trying creamy butter crabs and am highly recommend everyone should order this dish. Normally the butter crabs that am ate were not so creamy, and we could actually dip the sauce with mantous!

Crispy Mantous.

Look at am Gong! Big!

Overall we had an enjoyable dinner, cuz almost everyone from the soccer team turned up for the dinner.

Fishermen's Wharf

Wednesday dinner was at Fishermen's Wharf, located opposite Central Mall at New Bridge Road. We were there around 9.30pm, and luckily for us their last order is at 9.45pm. We've decided to have their Cream Dory Fillet aka Fish n Chips ($6.50) and a can of Green Tea due to specific reason muahahahaha.

They were already starting to cleaning up the place. Ha!

The main lead for our dinner. Their famous Cream Dory Fillet. As you can see, it comes with a huge slab of dory fish and a huge servings of fries. But personally, the fish aren't fantastic at all. The fish was somehow quite oily. The worst part of the fish was the Batter was too thick! Am have difficulty in slicing off the fish, or rather the Batter. In fact, am was so frustrated that am started 'tearing' up the fish with am fork and knife. The batter was so thick that for a moment, am thought am was eating 'kueh'. Couldn't finished up the fries either.

Steamy Yummy Sunday

Sunday dinner was Thien Kee Steamboat Restaurant at Golden Mile Tower. It is always crowded regardless whether is it on a weekdays or weekends. Do come early to avoid crowd. Mama said the restaurant was here for more than 30 over years. Mama used to stay in Beach Road. We've ordered $33 steamboat for 6 people, half white chicken, pork-chops and satays. All are super yummy. The most unique thing was they served chicken rice to all the diners. Uber-yummy chicken rice with their specially made chilli and the dark soya sauce, i can always eat up to 1 1/2 bowl of rice muhahahahaha.

All the food was served to us within 10 minutes. Their soup was utterly sweet and tasty.

Tender Chicken and their famous Satays.

Am favourite pork-chops. Crispy juicy pork-chops.

C-Nai Hong Kong Cafe

Saturday morning, am accompanied Dear darling to Novena Square to collect his Passion Run kit. After which, we proceeded to C-Nai Hong Kong Cafe for our lunch.

Their famous Si-Mud Tea, in other words Ice-Milked Tea.

Dear darling's Chicken Chop rice with Shanghainese Sauce. Just a normal chicken chop rice. Not that happening.

Am curry noodles. Basically, it was instant noodle with curry sauce, and the soup they gave makes me firmly believed that am instant noodle was Myojo Chicken Instant Noodle muahahahahaha.

Met up with Valerie at Midnite Summer in Elias Park at night before going back to support DD, bro and friends for their Sundown Marathon 2008. It was the first night marathon held in Singapore. I reached my park around 1.30am and only get to see DD around 3am. Can you imagine i was standing on the wet grass and anticipating when can i see my guys. Torturing! but not as tortured as them running for their 42km marathon. I guessed by passing them counterpain and being there in presence will give them enough motivation to complete the marathon. Cheers to everyone for completing their run! Am will definately unable to finish a marathon hahahaa.

WAH! Noogee House - IT WAS CLOSED DOWN TWO WEEKS AFTER THIS BLOG

Wednesday was buffet dinner at WAH! Noogee House at Carlton Hotel. The first thing that attracted me was it only cost $26 nett for weekdays/weekends dinner! The restaurant's food and chefs comes from the Wah Lock Restaurant, inside Carlton Hotel that serves the best dim sum. I believe alot of people are still unaware about this place and the food they serves, and that's the reason why the restaurant was quiet with only a handful of customers. Dear darling and am practically had the whole restaurant to ourselves when we were there.

As you can see, all the dishes comes in a very small portion, which was a very good idea because it gave our stomach more spaces to 'conquer' all the food on the buffet list. We practically finished all the food on the list. To summarise, we had the stir-fried beef slices (very yummy), fried mixed vegetable, yang zhou fried rice (very yummy), roasted duck-meat and char siew, lemon chicken etc etc etc. The buffet list is more like a zi cao style.

Next up was the desserts! There were only 6 desserts to chose from. We had mango pudding (very yummy), walnut paste, almond paste ( i hated almond the most, apparently DD liked their almond paste), mango sago and Gui-Hua Gao. Overall, we had an enjoyable and delicious dinner. It was worth the money!

Friday was un-enjoyable dinner at N.Y.D.C at Bugis Junction. Stupid am went to order their sandwiches instead of their baked rice or pasta. I've ordered their Bratwurst Sandwich which was a disaster for me. It was disgusting. So not delicious that i don't feel the the need to blog any pictures from there. Hahahaha.
