Lazy Saturday Part 2

Dear darling and am met up with Gentle Giant and Jolin at Marina Square, as usual we didn't know what to have for dinner but someone suggested Spageddies Italian Kitchen, so off we go. We got the seats quite fast too. For appetisers, we ordered the Primo Combo ($12.50) and 1/2 dozen Escargots ($8.50). For the main courses, Jo ordered Crayfish & Chicken Combo ($20.50), Dear darling and GG ordered Chicken Cannelloni ($14) and am ordered Carbonara ($15). Primo Combo comes with calamari, mozzarella and soft shell crabs served with their homemade tartar and neapolitan sauce. I would say it was not so fantastic at all. For the Escargots, it sucks too!! The garlic sauce for the escargots was oily and blend. Am still prefer escargots from Miss Clarity.
Actually, most of the time am feel very paisei because of am blog, am friends couldn't get to eat the food first and they had to help me with the pictures etc like whats GG doing now, helping me with the menu, Jo lifting up her dish up and DD helping me taking the pictures. HeeheehhEE

The Primo Combo.

The Escargots, with two slices of tiny-weeny bread.

Jo's with her Chicken & Cray Fish Spaghetti.

DD and GG Chicken Cannelloni. Plump chicken-filled pasta topped with alfredo sauce & mozzarella cheese. It was not so bad as compared to am Carbonara. I didn't pu up a pic of am Carbonara because it doesn't worth any mention. Carbonara from Creation at Shaw Centre is still the best, not even Spaghetti from Minotti can compare with Creation. In the end, am exchanged my Carbonara with DD chicken cannelloni. Hhahahaha.

Total Damage: $89.50 (inclusive of GST and service charge, add 10% off if you have any UOB cards)

We were supposed to catch a movie after dinner, but the timing was not right. So as usual, we spent bout 30mins deciding where to go. So am suggested trying 2am Desert Bar at Holland Village, so off we go again!

The location of 2am is just behind the multi-story car park, and is located on the 2nd level. The decor of the place was dark and cosy. Initially we have difficulty in 'deciphering' the menu, but one lady came up and starting explaining what is popular and unique in their bar. Am had the Chef's special ($14), DD got the Chocolate Tart ($14) which is very popular in the bar, Jo had the Amedei Chocolate Cake ($16) and GG had the Twix ($13).

DD's Chocolate Tart. Warm tart, wild nettle, salted caramel, blood orange sorbet. The tart was really nice, but the orange sorbet was damn sour! and it melted very fast. So DD literally had to use a fork and spoon to finish the whole plate, at that moment he really looks like he's eating zi-cao. Muahahahaha.

Am Chef's Special. With many different kinds of un-explainable chocolate. But i really like the home-made ice-cream in the middle. It smells and tastes very nice, and it tastes like Jasmine flowers.

GG's Twix. Burnt caramel mousse, peanut crumble, and home-made valrhona chocolate ice-cream. GG said he don't really like it because he's not a big fan of caramel. hahaha. What an expensive wrong choice.

Lastly was Jo's Amedei Chocolate Cake. It was nice, especially the cake. Jo really savours every part of her dessert.

The staffs from 2am really takes an extra effort in explaining what the dessert are make of when served to us. I guessed its really helpful to let the newbies like us know what we are paying for. Bottomline, we can only conclude that the desserts we ate are designer desserts and we really didn't know how to apprecaite them. HAhhaahahaha....

Total Damage: $62.70 (inclusive of 10% service charge). Ya, i know the price are astonished for just four desserts. HAahhahaa..
